FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.

The Fayetteville SwampDogs have added a powerful bat to the 2017 roster with the signing of Los Medanos College sophomore outfielder Jonathan Allen (Concord, Ca.). Allen will transfer to the University of San Francisco this fall following the completion of his final campaign at the junior college level to play for the Dons.

In his first season at Los Medanos, Allen ranked first in the Bay Valley Conference with a .406 batting average, while driving in 29 runs and a league-leading 23 stolen bases. He also finished second in the conference with 65 total hits and was named the Bay Valley Conference Player of the Year. Allen also earned Pacific Association Division third team All-American accolades by ABCA/Rawlings.

Allen is currently hitting for a .343 average and leads Los Medanos with a .547 slugging percentage through 36 games in the 2017 season. The future San Francisco Don also has compiled 10 doubles with a team-leading 35 RBIs. Allen continues to display his speed with 13 stolen bases in 14 attempts.

“Jonathan is a proven impact player for Los Medanos and in the Bay Valley Conference,” said SwampDogs head coach Matt Hollod. “He will play an integral role in our lineup this summer as we continue our quest to bring the Petitt Cup Championship to Fayetteville.”

Be sure to stay tuned during the remainder of the off-season as we continue to periodically announce our new members of the 2017 Fayetteville SwampDogs!
