Grizzlies Release 2016 Promotional Schedule!

Updated April 01 2016
GASTONIA, NC

The Gastonia Grizzlies are excited to release the promotional schedule for the 2016 season!  The schedule is highlighted by specialty jersey nights, where the Grizzlies will wear unique jerseys to be auctioned off after the game.  The schedule also includes a total of five fireworks shows, two Super Splash Days as well as the 7th Annual Midnight Madness.

Other highlights for the 2016 season include Bark in the Park on June 7th where fans can bring their dogs to the ballpark and the 1st Annual Great Gastonia BBQ Fest on June 18th.

The Grizzlies are also adding five “Two for One Tuesdays” that include two games for the price of one (double-header), as well as two for one sodas, waters and Budweiser products.  They will also feature five “All You Can Eat and Drink Thursdays” for an additional cost in advance or at the gate.  “All You Can Eat and Drink” items will include burgers, hot dogs, chips, soda, water and Budweiser products.

“We love doing the specialty jerseys and our fans love them also!  The players have gained national attention the past few years with the tuxedo uniforms and last year, the ‘Al Borland Lowe’s Home Improvement Night’ plaid jersey”, said David McDonald, Grizzlies General Manager.

In addition to the specialty jersey nights, the Grizzlies will host Grizzlies Live! at every Friday game during the 2016 season.  Grizzlies Live! will feature live acoustic music in the Beer Garden during the game.  One of the most popular nights of the season is back this year with Faith & Family Night on Friday June 10th.  This game sold out in 2015 and will feature a pre-game concert from a Christian band in addition to player testimonies before the game.

Super Splash Days are being held on June 22nd and August 2nd.  The ballpark will have lots of water activities set up including water slides, tarp slides and a dunk tank!

“Kids Rule the Ballpark” is back on Tuesday, July 5th.  Teaming up with the Gaston Gazette, the Grizzlies will select kids to run all operations at the stadium including Coach, Announcer, GM, Director of Promotions, Ticket Takers and Concessions.  The Gazette will have kid reporters, photographers and cover all aspects of media relations for the game.

“Obviously we love to do crazy promotions and we are thrilled to continue the fun out here at the ballpark this summer.  Our fireworks shows have become so popular that we added a 5th show this year and we are definitely excited to feature local barbeque restaurants at our First Annual Great Gastonia BBQ Fest on Saturday, June 18th!”, says McDonald.

On July 8th the Grizzlies will host the annual “Salute to Troops Night,” where the team will wear camouflage jerseys in support of the troops.  The “Great Community Give Back Game” is back on Monday, August 8th.  This Grizzlies game won best promotion at the Summer Ball Conference and features free food for the first 1000 fans as well as free tickets provided by the Grizzlies sponsors.

All games except the Grizzlies Midnight Madness on July 22nd and two Super Splash Days June 22nd and August 2nd will start at 7:17, presented by Glenway Premium Pub in Belmont.  Tickets for Opening Night on May 28th are still available and can be purchased at www.gastoniagrizzlies.com or by calling the front office at 704-866-8622.
