2003 SW Bat Co. CPL Offensive Player of the Year:
Marshall Hubbard (North Carolina) Outer Banks Daredevils
Hubbard, a sophomore at the University of North Carolina, finished the 2003 Coastal Plain League season in fantastic fashion. Starting in 46 games for the Daredevils, he finished with a .337 average (56-of-166), racking up an incredible 94 total bases. Hubbard totaled 15 doubles, one triple and seven home runs, as he went on to score 29 runs and tally 37 RBIs. Furthermore, his slugging percentage of .566 was the best in the entire league, while he was also ranked in the top five of eight different offensive categories.

2003 Diamond CPL Defensive Player of the Year:
Brian Hensen (Elon University) Wilmington Sharks
The junior from Elon finished the season with a 9-1 record and a 1.03 ERA. Appearing 13 times, 10 of them starts, Hensen pitched 79 innings on the season, compiling four complete games and one shutout. He allowed only 60 hits, while surrendering a low 15 runs, nine of which were earned. The 6’4” lefty only walked three, while striking out 51 and limiting opposing batters to a mere .208 average. Furthermore, Hensen’s brilliance on the mound helped his team earn a spot in the postseason tournament.
